​Background and Objectives: Minimizing public sector and privatization policy cause the health sector policy makers facing challenges regarding introducing best mechanisms and forms of reforms to meet the goals on equity, quality, efficiency and productivity. The aim of this study was assessing privatization mechanisms throughout the world and planning a model for Iran.

Materials and Methods: In this comparative study, mechanisms of privatization in England, Turkey, Zambia, Ghana, Mexico, Thailand, France, Chile, Sweden and Philippines were reviewed in order to prepare an appropriate module for Iranian health system.
The valid mechanisms proposed in the model for Iran were distributed in the form of questionnaire using Delphi techniques, among  informant and experts such as health management professors,  head of medical universities and ministries of MOH and their vice chancellors (N=65).

Results: The analysis of 35 collected questionnaires indicated that all of the participants agreed on appropriate mentioned developed module. Statically, the module also confirmed the significance of the results (z=3.54, p value<0/05).

Conclusion: Constituents of the module are
Forming health corporations and enforcing them on competition, integrating public and private units with boards of trusts, systematizing contracting and delegating to non-public sector and constituting of national accreditation committee.
